Description

This illustration demonstrates step one in a method designed to pass the peritoneal catheter of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt through the abdominal wall and into the peritoneal cavity through a pathway separate from the fascial and peritoneal opening. The image shows the tip of a disposable passer bent into a J shape and tunneled through the abdominal wall from the peritoneum to the subcutaneous tissue.
